Breathing Space is HOOT’s specialist Arts for Dementia service which provides fun, engaging and accessible activities that someone living with dementia can enjoy with their family member, partner, carer or support worker. Being creative makes us feel good and has proven benefits to mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Who is it for?
The Breathing Space service is open and free to anyone who is a Kirklees resident (i.e your council is Kirklees Council) and:
- In the process of obtaining a diagnosis of early stage dementia
or - Already diagnosed with early stage dementia
along with a family member, partner, carer or support worker.

How do I sign up?
Phone: You can call the Breathing Space team on 07388 800767 and leave a message with your name and number. Breathing Space’s Creative Support Worker will give you a call to complete your sign up over the phone, get to know you both a little more and answer any questions you might have. Alternatively you can leave a message at HOOT on 01484 516224.
