The Welcome Taster Session is for people who are new to hoot and want to find out more about what we do before deciding if they want to join a session.
At this session you can find out more about our free groups that are part of the Out of the Blue programme - have a look around the hoot building, meet the team and have a go at a creative activity.
The Out of the Blue programme is free for people who are:
- Aged 18 or over
- Living in Kirklees
- Wanting to look after their well-being and mental health (you don’t need a diagnosis to sign up)
The Welcome Taster Sessions are open to people interested in attending sessions themselves and to people who support someone else. You can come with a support person if you'd like to.

Where we are
hoot is located in Bates Mill not far from Huddersfield town centre on the corner of Queen Street South and Milford Street.
We have a 1-step accessible entrance on Milford Street with a ramp available. We also have a wheelchair friendly toilet and a hearing loop available to use.
