Walk In My Shoes was part of Here & Now, a national project supported by Arts Council England and Future Arts Centres, marking The National Lottery’s 25th birthday. Running in arts centres across the UK, Here & Now aims to create new conversations and understanding between different groups of people who don’t usually have contact to develop new creative conversations.
Teaming the Lawrence Batley Theatre's experience running creative opportunities for young people with our ground-breaking Breathing Space groups for people with dementia and their carers and partners we brought together the two generations to find out what it would be like to “walk in my shoes”.
Throughout Autumn 2021, young and old shared writing, stories and drama and discovered what they had in common and what was different about their lives. The experience was captured on film. Keep an eye out for updates and to watch the finished film.
