Tuesdays at 10:30am - 12:30pm
There's no right or wrong way to make art, and you don't need to be an artist or have professional materials to join our visual arts groups. Have a go at painting, sculpting and more in this fun and friendly group.
What is happening in the sessions?
Join artist Sally Barker in making drawings in ink on paper using pen, brush, masking and colour. Taking inspiration from the work of American graphic artist Leonard Baskin who was famous for bold, stark black and white prints. He published beautiful images of funny, characterful birds and mythical creatures to accompany books of poetry.
You don’t need any experience of drawing, art or poetry to take part.
We will start the term by visiting Heritage Quays at the University, to look at some of Leonard Baskin's prints and books in their collection and work towards an exhibition on the Big Curvy Screen at Heritage Quays in July.
